The same sheet, on screen. Tick, type, add or remove rows, then print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
The things you did at work, written down while you still remember them. Each line records what you did, what came of it, who saw it or where the evidence is, the skills it showed and whether it has been used yet in a CV, an application or a review.
Anyone who sits down to update a CV or prepare for an appraisal and finds the year has gone blank — which is most people.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
Anything you would be glad to be asked about. Small things count — the sheet is for the ordinary weeks that get forgotten, not only for the big projects.
Because a reference, a review or an interview may want someone who can confirm it, and because it reminds you which colleague or manager to mention.
No. The CPD log records learning. This records doing — the results of applying it, which is what an appraisal and a CV are made from.
It is yours, so keep it where you will still have it after you leave. The browser version saves in your own browser on the device you use.
Each objective set against what you actually did and the evidence for it.
Every skill you have, named, with the place you used it.
Hours of development logged in the period, added up for you.
Every role applied for, with the employer and where the advert was found.
Every placement, job, shift or volunteering day, with its dates.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Hold a yearly review that is about the work rather than about a score, with the employee's own comments recorded on the form.
Give a regular short conversation some continuity, by starting from what was agreed last time instead of from a blank page.
