The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Count what you have before you buy more. List every roll of paper, bag, ribbon, tag and box already in the house, set how many you need, and the sheet shows what is short and what buying it will cost at your own prices.

Households stocking up before a busy gifting season, anyone who keeps finding a cupboard full of paper after buying more, and people who wrap for a large family or a school fair.

What this helps you track

  • What wrapping supplies are already in the house and where they are kept
  • How many of each you expect to need this season
  • What is short, line by line
  • What topping up will cost at the prices you find
  • The shopping list, ready to take out

How to use it

  1. Write where the supplies are stored, the date you counted and who counted at the top.
  2. Count each item on the list, adding lines for anything else you use, and note the size or type.
  3. Enter how many you expect to need, and a unit cost from the shop or website you plan to use.
  4. The to buy and estimated cost columns and the summary are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, take on hand from needed and multiply.
  5. Take the lines with something to buy as your shopping list, and recount after the season so next year starts from a real figure.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How many of each should I have?

Only you know how many gifts you wrap. The sheet has a needed column for your own figure; a count against last year's gift list is a good starting point.

What if I already have more than I need?

The to buy column never goes below zero, so a surplus simply shows as nothing to buy. Note the surplus in the notes so it gets used first next time.

Where do the unit costs come from?

From the shop, catalogue or website you plan to buy from. The sheet supplies no prices; it multiplies what you are short of by the unit cost you enter.

Can I use it for other occasions?

Yes. It works for birthday and party supplies too. Change the item names to suit and keep one sheet per storage place if supplies live in more than one cupboard.
