The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Every commission request in one place. Each enquiry gets a line from the day it arrives, with what the person wants, the budget they mentioned, when you quoted and for how much, and when to chase, until it ends as accepted, declined or no reply.

Artists, illustrators, furniture makers, jewellers and other makers who take custom and commissioned work and receive enquiries through several channels.

What this helps you track

  • Every enquiry, where it came from and when
  • What each person wants and the budget they indicated
  • When a quote was sent and how much for
  • The next follow-up date, so no enquiry is forgotten
  • How many enquiries turn into accepted commissions

How to use it

  1. Write your business name and the period at the top.
  2. Add a line the day an enquiry arrives: the date, the person's name and contact, where it came from and what they want.
  3. Note any budget they mention, then the date you send a quote and the amount quoted.
  4. Set a follow-up date for every open quote and check the column each week.
  5. Record the outcome when it is settled, and tick won for accepted commissions so the tally counts them.
  6. Keep it printed by the phone or fill it in online, where it saves in your own browser.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How long should I wait before following up a quote?

That is your call, and it depends on the kind of work and the customer. Choose a gap you are comfortable with and write the date in the follow-up column so it is not left to memory.

Why record the source of each enquiry?

Over a season it shows where your commissions actually come from, such as your website, a fair or word of mouth, which helps decide where to spend time and money.

What counts as no reply?

Use it for a quote that has gone unanswered after your final follow-up. Moving it out of the open list keeps the tracker focused on enquiries that are still live.

Is this the same as the order tracker?

No. This covers the stage before an order exists. Once a commission is accepted, move it to your order tracker and custom order form to manage the making and delivery.
