Who this is for

Every appliance care job, on one page. Each task has your own interval, when it was last done and when it is next due, and a monthly grid shows what was done.

Households who want the kettle, coffee machine, fridge, dishwasher, oven and extractor looked after on a routine rather than when something starts to smell or stop working.

What this helps you track

  • Which care task each appliance needs, and how often you have decided to do it
  • When each task was last done and when it is next due
  • A year of descaling, filter, seal, deep clean and defrost ticks at a glance
  • The method, product or part number that suits each appliance

How to use it

  1. Write the year and list the appliances in the kitchen, including small ones such as the kettle and toaster.
  2. Give each care task its own row: the appliance, the task and the interval you have chosen from the maker's manual or your own routine.
  3. Fill in when each task was last done and work out the next due date from your interval.
  4. When a job is done, tick the task in that month's row of the grid and update the last done and next due dates.
  5. Use the online version to keep the schedule in your own browser, or print a copy for inside a cupboard door.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How often should each appliance be descaled or cleaned?

That depends on the appliance, how much it is used and, for descaling, how hard your water is. The sheet sets no intervals: take them from the maker's manual, or start with your own guess and adjust it as you see how quickly scale or grime builds up.

Why a separate month grid?

The task table shows what is next. The grid shows what actually happened across the year, so a month where nothing was done, or a task that keeps slipping, is easy to spot.

What counts as a seal check?

Looking over the rubber door seals on the fridge, freezer, dishwasher or oven for splits, mould or gaps, and cleaning them. Note anything that needs a replacement part in the notes column.

Does it cover repairs and warranties?

No, it is for routine care only. Keep repairs, purchase dates and warranty details on an appliance register so the care schedule stays short and easy to follow.
