The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Every household energy grant, followed from application to payment. Each scheme and measure has a row for the installer, the reference and the date the offer expires, with the days left worked out, then a row for the works, the claim and the money offered against the money received, and a log of every call and visit.

Homeowners applying for one or more grants, vouchers or rebates towards insulation, heating, solar or other energy work, whether they apply themselves or an installer applies for them.

What this helps you track

  • Each scheme, the measure it covers and the installer doing the work
  • Reference numbers and the date each offer or voucher expires
  • Days left before an offer runs out
  • Works, inspection, claim paperwork and the date paid
  • Grant offered against grant received, and every call and visit

How to use it

  1. Write your name, the property and the scheme's contact details at the top.
  2. Add a row for each scheme and measure as soon as you apply, with the reference and the expiry date printed on the offer or voucher.
  3. Change the status as the application moves on; days left is worked out in the browser and the workbook, and shows zero once a row is paid, refused or withdrawn.
  4. When the work is done, record the dates, tick the claim once it is sent and enter what was offered and what was received.
  5. Log every call, letter, email and visit on the second page with the next step and the date it is due.
  6. Tick off the paperwork as you file it, and keep everything until the grant is paid and any checks are finished.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

What counts as the expiry date?

Whatever date the offer, voucher or approval letter says it must be used or claimed by. Schemes word this differently, so copy the date and wording exactly and check the scheme's own terms if it is unclear.

My installer applies for the grant. Do I still need this?

It helps. Some schemes contact the homeowner to confirm the installer is acting for them, or arrange a check visit, and a record of those calls and dates shows where the application has got to.

Why compare offered with received?

So a grant paid at less than the offer, or not paid at all, is noticed and chased. A difference may have a good reason, and the call log is the place to write it down.

Does the tracker say which grants I can get?

No. Schemes, eligibility and amounts change and differ from place to place. Check the scheme's own guidance; the tracker only follows applications you make.
