The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.

The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

A fundraising quiz from plan to cash count. Plan who sets and marks each round, keep the team scores on the night, and count up entries, raffle, bar and food at the end to see what the evening raised.

Club, PTA, church and village hall organisers running a quiz night as a fundraiser, and the quizmaster and scorer on the night.

What this helps you track

  • Each round's theme, who is setting it and who is marking
  • The running order and timing of the rounds
  • Every team's score round by round, and their total
  • Takings and costs for entries, raffle, bar and food
  • The net amount the night raised

How to use it

  1. Write the organisation, date, venue, quizmaster and your own entry fee at the top.
  2. Fill the rounds table weeks ahead: a theme for each round, who is setting the questions, who is marking and the time it should start.
  3. On the night, write each team's name as it arrives and enter its score after each round is marked; totals are worked out in the browser and the workbook.
  4. Sort by total in the workbook, or read down the total column on paper, to find the winners and any tie-break.
  5. After the cash is counted, enter the takings and costs for each item; the net raised is worked out for you.
  6. Record the net figure in the cashbook and keep the sheet for planning the next quiz.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How many rounds and teams does it hold?

Eight rounds, and as many teams as the grid has lines on the printed sheet. The browser version and the workbook let you add more teams; leave unused round columns blank.

Does it rank the teams?

The summary shows the top score. In the workbook sort the teams table by the total column to see the full order, and on paper circle the top three totals.

What should we charge for entry?

The sheet does not suggest a fee. Enter your own in the header, whether per team or per person, and record the total entry money on the entries line of the takings table.

Do we need permission for a raffle on the night?

Rules on raffles and alcohol sales differ by country and by the size of the event. Check the rules where you are, and with the venue, before the night.
