The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Every tyre's age and every pressure check. A van that stands for months can wear its tyres out by age long before the tread goes, so the sheet works each tyre's age from its date code and flags any older than the age you choose.

Caravan, motorhome and campervan owners, including those with a spare, twin axles or twin rear wheels, and anyone buying a used van who wants to know how old its tyres really are.

What this helps you track

  • Each tyre's position, make, size and date code
  • How old each tyre is, worked out from its date of manufacture
  • Which tyres are older than the age you have chosen
  • Every pressure check: what was found and what it was set to
  • Tread and damage noted at each check

How to use it

  1. Write the vehicle, the number of tyres and the pressure figure you use, taken from your handbook, tyre placard or tyre supplier.
  2. Enter the age at which you want a tyre flagged. The sheet uses your figure; it does not supply one.
  3. For each tyre, including the spare, copy the date code from the sidewall and write the date of manufacture it gives, plus the date the tyre was fitted.
  4. The age column and the flag are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, subtract the year of manufacture from this year.
  5. Log each pressure check in the second table: which tyre, what you found, what you set it to, the tread and any damage.
  6. Update the tyres table whenever a tyre is replaced or swapped to another position.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

How do I read a tyre date code?

On many tyres the last four digits of the code on the sidewall give the week and year of manufacture. Formats vary, so check with your tyre supplier if yours looks different, then write the date it gives in the made column.

At what age should caravan tyres be replaced?

The sheet does not say. Advice differs between tyre makers, vehicle makers, clubs and countries, and condition matters too. Enter the age your handbook or tyre supplier gives you, and the sheet flags any tyre past it.

Why record pressure found as well as pressure set?

A tyre that is always low when you check tells you more than the figure you pumped it to. Comparing the two over several checks is how a slow puncture or a leaking valve shows itself.

Does the spare count?

Yes. A spare can be the oldest tyre on the vehicle because it is never used. Tick the spare column for it so it stays on the record even when it is not on a wheel.
