A record of every visit to a van in storage. Each row is one visit: who went, what was looked at, what was wrong and what was done about it, so a slow tyre or a damp patch shows up across visits instead of on the first day of the season.
Owners of caravans, motorhomes and campervans kept in a storage compound, on a farm or on the drive between trips, and households where more than one person does the checking.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
That depends on the site, the season, the van and what your insurer or storage agreement asks for. The log has no set interval; it records the visits you make and the date you plan for the next one.
A tick means you checked that area and found nothing wrong. If you did not check it, leave it blank; if you found a problem, leave it unticked and write it in the faults column so it is not mistaken for a pass.
Because the person who goes when you cannot needs the gate code, key location or opening hours. Keep codes off any copy you leave in the van itself, and change what is written if the site changes them.
No. It is a quick owner's look between services. Work done by an engineer belongs in a service and habitation history, and this log simply shows what you noticed in between.
Every tap, pump, tank and heater drained before the frosts.
The battery reading morning and evening on each day.
Every service, habitation check, repair and warranty job in date order.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Cover the habitation side properly, which is where the expensive problems — damp above all — actually start.
Record damp readings at the same points year after year, so a wet corner shows up as a trend long before it shows up as a repair bill.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
