A free printable rent receipt — three to a page, each with the amount, the period covered, the balance still owing and both signatures.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Give a tenant paying in cash the proof they have no other way of holding, and keep a matching record yourself.
Landlords taking cash or cheque, live-in landlords, and anyone letting a room.
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
No, and it is not legal advice. It is a record sheet. What a tenancy legally requires — notice periods, how a deposit must be held, which certificates must be in place and how long records must be kept — depends entirely on where the property is, and it changes. Nothing of that kind is printed here. Establish what applies to you locally and keep this alongside it.
That depends where you are, and this sheet does not attempt to answer it. A signature costs nothing and makes the receipt harder to dispute, so there is a line for one.
Settle an arrears question with a document rather than a memory, and hand an accountant something that already adds up.
Give a receipt for money taken and keep an identical copy, with the balance still owed written on both halves.
Have the details you need in an emergency, rather than discovering the only phone number you hold is the one that is not answering.
We are building this library out steadily. Leave an address and we will send the new sheets as they are finished — nothing else, and no more than one email a week.
Sign-up is not live yet — we have not connected an email provider, so this form is switched off rather than quietly collecting addresses.
