One line, every day, for a month. A numbered row for each day and a wide space beside it for a single line — what happened, who you saw — and nothing else.
Anyone who has tried a journal and stopped, parents who want to remember the small things, people through a long illness or a big year, and anyone who would like to look back at a month and find it is still there.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
No, but the sheet is built for it. The rows are short so that a full month fits one page and the writing takes a minute; anything longer belongs in a notebook.
Whatever you would want to remember, or whatever stood out. A meal, a phone call, the weather, a thing a child said, a bad day named as a bad day. There is no right kind of line.
Yes. A line a day about one subject is a fine record of it, and the month field can carry a subtitle. Some people keep two sheets going at once.
No; leave the last rows blank in a short month. The numbering is fixed so that the same day is in the same place on every page.
Three things from each day that were good, written before they are forgotten.
Mood and energy at different times of the day, described the way you describe them.
Every day of the year in one grid, six months to a page.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Record a day as it happens in enough detail that it can be reconstructed later by somebody who was not there.
