A year of house jobs on one page, month by month. The twelve months are already written in; you add the jobs that fall in each one, tick them off as they are done and note anything worth remembering for next year.
Anyone who prefers to see the year at a glance rather than a list of tasks — and households that want one sheet on the fridge or the inside of a cupboard door.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
The jobs depend on your house, your climate and what you own. A sheet that printed a fixed job in a fixed month would be wrong for most readers, so it gives you the months and leaves the jobs to you.
Yes. The jobs column is wide and the rows are tall enough for two or three short lines. If a month genuinely has more, use the maintenance planner as the full list and keep the calendar as the overview.
On paper the months are printed January to December. In the browser version you can rewrite the month column to start wherever your year starts.
Anything you would want to know a year from now: the name of the tradesperson, a part number, a problem that was spotted but not fixed, or simply 'took a full day'.
Every recurring job in one list, with the part of the house it belongs to.
The jobs you have decided to do each month, in your own words.
What was last done, and when, for every recurring check.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Work through the jobs that are easiest in warm, dry weather, while access is good and the heating is off.
Get ahead of the cold, so a frost or a storm does not turn into a burst pipe or a heating failure on the coldest night of the year.
