Garden Maintenance Calendar

Build a month-by-month garden calendar for the things you actually grow, in your own climate.

Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, there is no account, and the PDF is built on your own device. We count how often this tool is opened and used — a number, with nothing attached to it. What that means.

Where you garden
What you have

How it works

  1. Say roughly where you garden and what you have — lawn, beds, fruit, vegetables, a greenhouse.
  2. It lays the jobs out across twelve months, in the hemisphere you chose.
  3. Print the year, or download it and put it in the shed.

Why use this rather than the printable?

Gardening advice is written for somebody else’s climate more often than not. This asks which half of the world you are in before it tells you when to prune, and it never tells you a date to sow — the packet is better at that than any website.

Both exist on purpose. If you would rather not type anything, the blank printable versions below are free, need no browser and never change. The tool is for when the personalised version is worth three minutes.

Questions

Why does it not give me sowing dates?

Because they depend on your last frost, your soil and your season, and they are printed on the seed packet by people who know the variety. The calendar tells you which month the job belongs in; the packet tells you the date.

I am in the southern hemisphere. Does it work?

Yes — choose southern and the whole calendar shifts six months, which is the single thing most garden calendars on the internet get wrong.
