What this sheet is for

Fill in once the details you are asked for by a garage, an insurer, a parts counter or a hire firm and can never find.

Who it is for

Every vehicle owner, and anyone running more than one.

How to use it

  1. Copy the details off the vehicle's own documents and plates.
  2. Record the paint code and bulb types — they are the ones you will want at a counter.
  3. Keep the wheel lock key location written down, not just remembered.
  4. Update the cover section as policies renew.
  5. Keep it with the vehicle's folder, not in the vehicle.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Why are there no specifications printed on it?

Because they differ by engine, by year and by market. Every figure on this sheet is one you copy from your own handbook or plate, which is the only version that is right for your vehicle.

Should I keep this in the car?

No. It contains the key number and security code. Keep it with your papers at home.
