The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

Marks turned into percentages, assessment by assessment. Write what the piece was, the mark you were given and the mark it was out of, and the percentage column does the arithmetic — for one subject or for a whole year of them.

Students at any level who want their results in one place, and parents or tutors trying to see a pattern across subjects rather than one mark at a time.

What this helps you track

  • Every assessment, test, essay and exam with the date it was returned
  • The mark achieved against the mark available, in the school's or course's own numbers
  • The percentage for each piece, worked out rather than guessed
  • The weighting each piece carries towards the final result, as your course sets it
  • How the marks are moving across a term or a year

How to use it

  1. Write your name and the period the sheet covers at the top.
  2. Add a row for each piece of assessed work: subject, what it was, and the date the mark came back.
  3. Enter the mark you were given and the mark it was out of. The percentage is worked out in the browser version and the workbook; on paper, divide and multiply by a hundred.
  4. If your course weights pieces differently, write each weighting in the weighting column, taken from your own course documents.
  5. Use the comment column for what the marker actually said, which is worth more than the number six months later.
  6. Read the summary for the overall percentage across everything on the sheet, and compare terms rather than single pieces.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Does it convert percentages into grades?

No. Grade boundaries differ by country, board, course and year, and they move. The sheet works out the percentage from your own marks and leaves the grade to whoever awards it.

What goes in the weighting column?

Whatever proportion of the final mark that piece carries, as stated in your course handbook or by your teacher. Leave it blank if your marks are not weighted.

How is the overall percentage worked out?

Total marks achieved divided by total marks available across every row on the sheet. That is not the same as your course's final result, which may weight pieces or drop the lowest — use it as a running picture, not a prediction.

Can I keep more than one subject on the same sheet?

Yes — there is a subject column, and sorting by it in the workbook gives you one subject at a time. Some people prefer a separate sheet per subject; both work.
