The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

One month, every place you sell. Write in what each channel took and what it cost you in fees, postage and refunds, and the summary shows the net income, average order value and the share of takings kept for each.

Makers who sell through more than one route, such as an online marketplace, their own website, fairs and shops, and want to see which of them actually earns its keep.

What this helps you track

  • Orders and gross sales for each selling channel in the month
  • Platform fees, payment fees, postage and refunds set against each channel
  • Net income and average order value per channel
  • How much of each channel's takings you keep after its costs
  • Month totals to carry into your own books

How to use it

  1. Write the month and your business name in the header.
  2. Rename or add channels in the first column so the list matches where you actually sell.
  3. At the end of the month, take the order count, gross sales and fees for each channel from your marketplace statements, payment reports and fair takings.
  4. Add what you spent on postage and what you refunded for orders from that channel.
  5. Net income, average order value and net percentage fill in by themselves in the browser and the workbook; on paper, work them out down each row.
  6. Keep each month's sheet to compare how the channels move through the year.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

What counts as a platform fee?

Whatever the selling platform or organiser takes for that channel: listing fees, commission, advertising charges, stall or pitch fees. Use the figures on your own statements; the sheet supplies no fee rates.

Where do wholesale orders go?

On the wholesale row, with the invoice totals as gross sales. There are usually no platform fees, but record any delivery you paid for under postage so the net figure is fair to compare.

Why is postage a cost here when customers pay for it?

Put what the customer paid for postage inside gross sales and what you paid the carrier under postage. The difference then shows up in net income, so you can see whether postage is covering itself.

Is net income my profit?

No. It is what each channel brought in after its own selling costs. Materials, your time and running costs still come out of it, so use a costing sheet alongside this one to see the real margin.
