Product Listing Photo Checklist

Who this is for

Everything to have before you press publish. The first list covers the photographs a buyer expects, with space for each file name; the second covers the words and numbers the listing needs, so nothing is missing when a customer starts asking questions.

How to use it

1. Write the product, its listing or SKU reference and the date at the top.
2. Work through the shot list as you photograph, ticking each one and writing the file name beside it.
3. Draft the listing and tick each detail as it is written and checked against the item.
4. Run the final checks with the photos and listing side by side.
5. Print one sheet per product, or tick it off online, where it saves in your own browser.

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The online version keeps what you enter in your own browser and builds the completed PDF on your device.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. Questions

Do I need every shot on the list?

No. Some will not apply, such as an in-use shot for a print, or colour variants for a one-off. Leave those blank. The list is there so that nothing gets missed by accident.

How many photos can I upload?

That depends on the platform you sell on, and limits change. Check your platform's own guidance and choose the shots from this list that matter most for the item.

Why write down the file names?

When you shoot several products in one session, file names are the quickest way to find the right pictures again, and to reuse them when you relist or add a colour.

Where do the listing details come from?

From the item itself and your own records: measure it, check the materials against your costing sheet and use the price and postage you have already worked out.
